The DS26 has stayed cool and had 0 issues so far.If you're in the market for something similar and don't want to spend loads of cash the DS26 is worth trying out. For the price the DS26 is very impressive.Thus far there's no additional noise added to the system via the DS26.And once you figure out the menu's its a breeze to setup + I Love the mute buttons!Note: I never used the pc software.I've only run it for a day thus far so I can't speak to its longevity, only general usage. After spending the day playing around with it I see no reason to get another DR260. I figured I would grab it until I could get my hands on another DR260.
While waiting for a new one to pop up on sale, musician's friend had a DS26 used for $193. Comments about BBE DS26 Loudspeaker Management System 2-In 6-Out: I've been running a driverack 260 for the last 2 years with no major issues until about a week back it just died. Along with XLR input/output connectors, DS26 has selectable line voltages between 90 and 250 VAC for global use. The DS26 can also be controlled from a PC via its RS232 connection. Independent control of each high and low pass filter allows asymmetric crossover bands to be created. Other features include a choice of 12, 18, or 24dB/octave roll-off and Butterworth, Bessel, or Linkwitz-Riley responses. Full metering is provided for inputs and outputs, with mute and access buttons allowing quick set up and gain adjustment. Outputs all feature crossover filters, selectable high and low shelving filters, and fully featured limiter and delay circuits. The BBE DS26 loudspeaker management system features 2 inputs and 6 outputs with 5-band parametric EQ on each output.
